Been there. I didn't go down, but I had an 8-inch wide bruise from my armpit to my waist, probably cracked some ribs.
Glad you made it.

Glad to hear you're (mostly) OK.
Thanks for sharing this video. It's good for all of us to get a reminder of how quickly "obstacles" can appear in our path even with no other traffic on the road.
Heal fast and hope to see you on two wheels again soon!

Thank you everyone for the kind comments. Today is day 10 and I had a doctor visit. The docs are very happy with how everything is healing. I started putting weight on my bad foot yesterday, and they told me keep doing as much as I can tolerate each day. Stitches come out next week.

Still a long road ahead, but the good news today was definitely welcome.

I'm glad you're healing up fast, good news is always welcome ;P
You mentioned the ins co is totaling your scoot. I'm curious- what was the damage to her?

Actually I don't know if it is totaled. I have not heard from the adjuster yet.

The damage that I can see is the right handlebar, engine guard, rear turnsignal relo, and the front fender looks a little off. Unfortunately, mud is preventing me from getting a better look.

I believe it fell on the right side and spun clockwise.

That doesn't look too bad... I hope it can be fixed and back in service when you are.

LOVE....to hunt them...to watch them...to eat them.

HATE....them when riding...when driving...when they eat our landscape.

HIT....4 of them with a vehicle and killed them all.

MISSED....too many to count with the bike.

I've killed 3 with cars over a 35 year span, and now 1 with a bike.
I've had 3 close calls on bikes.

Glad it wasn't that very serious. Or it was?. I hit a big old doe a couple of years ago running about 40 mph at night about 1/8 from the house. My Saviour was riding with me. Came out with bumps and bruises and skinned up head. Looking at the pics. Your bike looks worse than mine. Although. Mine was a 1997 Road King. Indestructible battle ship. First deer strike in 52 years of riding. Argue with the insurance that it is totaled . Wishing you a speedy recovery and back on two wheels.
