Kick back, rest up and get well soon!

I rode for decades (literally), on many overnight runs through many states and deer NEVER crossed my mind until one early morning ride in Indiana.
I was riding on my new '96 RK with the cruise "locked down" between 70-75 MPH with my feet up in the engine guard foot pegs when I spotted a good sized doe just "standing" on the right side of the road!
IF that doe had decided to cross the road I would have been literally screwed!
After that encounter I've tried not to ride (unless necessary) after dark OR too early in the morning.

I've encountered nearly every animal from the largest (except a grizzly or polar bear) to the smallest but to this day a White Tail deer still scares me the most as you have no idea (and they probably don't either) as to what or where they may go next!

Damn Dave, I thought you were going to ride her to a stop at first!

Good news no herniated discs. Wishing you a quick recovery brother.

Ouch! That hurt. So glad you came through it and were able to post the video. May you know the Lord's loving arms around you and His healing touch.

Hard to watch that, literally hit that thing dead on. That sucks, nothing you could do, glad you're ok.

I commented in your YouTube video, but once again here's to a speedy recovery.

I hit a deer while driving a Ram pickup one winter, couldn't believe the amount of damage it did to the truck. Can only imagine (and hope to never experience) what it feels like on a bike.

Not sure I can remember all the deer I hit with autos. First one at 15 with my mom's car.

Thanks for sharing this video. It’s a great reminder of just how quickly things can go south.

Glad to hear you are okay. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Adding to this original post. This is so ironic in that I had just watched one of your YouTube videos a few days ago on the ITM HD2 for ABS brake flush. I gave you a thumbs up because it was very well done and very helpful.

Many thanks.

I used his video to replace my front motor mount. Great instructions!
