Confucious say: Best motorbike crash story is when motorbike rider still here to tell story himself.

RDRS gives you a little more margin, but it's no guarantee that you'd have had a better outcome.

OP glad you are OK and it sounds like the bike will be too. I live in CA so we see very little rain which can make it worse when it does rain. I'm a fair weather rider only for just these types of stories.

Be safe everyone

It happens to the best of us. As they say, there are two kinds of motorcyclists. Those who have dropped their bikes and those who are gonna drop their bikes.

I went down on my Ultra Limited last summer due to an oil slick on the road from a previous car accident a few hours earlier. Beautiful sunny summer day and suddenly felt like I was riding on black ice. Didn't see that one coming. Broken collar bone and severe bruising on left side. Had to sleep sitting up in a chair for the first few weeks afterward. Could have been much worse so I consider myself lucky. Managed to go 35 years since my last motorcycle crash....Back in the saddle now and hopefully it will be another 35 years before my next crash....

Agree. I've hit myself with a chainsaw and sent pictures asking do you think I should go.

If you ride a bike you will get caught in the rain and you will fall over once in awhile. Not at the same time ,but it will happen if you ride long enough.
Glad you are OK, that"s the main thing.
