@Cosmic Razorback when you talk to him again, have him check his bike insurance. i have the expanded roadside with progressive. if i have an unplanned overnight due to a breakdown more than 100 miles from home, they will give me a stipend for food and lodging.

Update
Guys, I called RT around 3pm and they had confirmed he has an internal engine failure. Definitely a collapsed lifter and he did not want them going farther in since he is so far from home.
He asked if my offer to come and get him and the bike was still good and I said yes sir. I drove over and thanked Jeff for helping him and we loaded up his bike. He has a good friend coming tomorrow to pick him up and wanted to get as far west as possible and not have to wait for the dealership to open and deal with the traffic.
We got him to our house and unloaded the bike off our trailer and put one of our bike covers over it. His buddy is leaving Chattanooga at 3am and will be here at 9am in the morning. We have a good motel about 3 miles from the house but we showed him our sleeper sofa in the man cave and he took us up on it.
He insisted on buying us dinner and we had a very good meal at Mocksville Family Restaurant. The Carolina Girl picked up some fresh strawberries and made us a cobbler.
Needless to say RT is a happy man this even and has turned in for the night. This guy reminds us of Eustace on Mountain Man. I would also compare him to Canadian Rocky. He has some amazing motorcycle ride stories. A veteran and retired from the post office.
I’m happy to add another friend to the long list of you guys.
I plan to hang around in the morning and help them load up.

Coz, you’re a good man. Stories like these. Are why we will more than likely ride and share a meal together again brother. I always if possible try to stop and ask if someone needs help. Cage or bike. I help some ladies change a tire about a month ago in the rain. She said I didn’t have to, I said I know..
