Lot of truth here. People like how cheap they are, so to speak. You need to make enough money to get the deduction. So they are really helping higher income people, and not poor.

Agree. Just with electric cars, people don't realize most people have gasser for trips. The live wire has no storage, is not meant for travel no matter what engine is in it.

While I think most would use gas for travel, I know people who enjoy EV for travel. Another thing people don't realize, is you don't have to charge it all the way. You just have to charge it enough to get where you are going, or next charge point.

While I am not for or against e bikes and have no plans to purchase one the silence is not what will kill us.

You can run neighbor hater’s and crank your radio up full blast and they will still run you over.

The most common thing the people who hit us say “ I never saw him”

I truly believe the more bright led’s we have on our bikes the better off we are.

But in reality drivers today are just to distracted and many just don’t gave a dam to pay attention, so it may not matter if we’re loud or bright.

I have experienced my loud pipes alerting clueless cagers, avoiding a collision, more times than I can count. In any of those situations, had I been on a silent ev bike, I likely would have been run over.

I agree that being more visible is a huge benefit. I have bright white LED running lights in my front turn signals (they switch to amber when being used as turn signals). Not enough to illuminate the road at night, but plenty bright enough to be seen during the day. I also have the rear LED signals doubling as running/brake lights for rear visibility (they also switch to amber when being used as turn signals, and are red for braking/running).

Cheers!

I rode both the original and the s2 del mar, I did not think much of the original livewire but the del mar is hella fun to ride.

There's a bazillion e-bikes out here by the beach. Santa Barbara has a well-developed bike lane/path infrastructure that allows for folks to get around town without having to hit the public roads, and e-bikes are everywhere. Works great here where the weather stays decent year round.

Never seen an HD electric bike out here in the wild.

And every 4th car is a Tesla which makes sense because you can't (and don't really need to) go too far in any direction.

That would explain why there are so few riders with much experience on metrics.
Metric riders got into accidents and either died or didn't ride anymore because close calls have frightened them.

Agree lights help. Shake my head at the guys who put the smallest lights they can find on their bike.

Ya not like when we were kids, digging on the floor for a tape.

Yep, EV's are racist because the under privileged cannot afford them In the liberal/democrat thought process if it cannot be readily available to the minority class then it is racist.

Well you have to make enough money to take advantage odf the tax deduction. But then again poor and lower middle class can't afford them regardless.
