A buddy of mine wants to trade his 03 ulrta with 500 miles on itplus give me $500 for my 05 Screaming Eagle Electra Glide (cherry) that has 12,000 miles on it. His bike is the anniversary color of silver and black. Opinions please. Its pretty tempting with the low miliage on that ultra!

Only 500 miles on an '03 Ultra? How about making the deal and letting him store the '05 SE electra glide in your garage. Often as he rides, he'd probably appreciate not having it clutter up his garage. You could offer to ride it regularly for him to make sure it stays in nice shape. You can offer him a deal to by doing the regular maintenance on his Eglide at about 1/2 the price the dealer would charge.

No way, not me. Hell, 12K miles on a 2005 model is low miles. It took 8-10K miles for my RK to really start running good.

To me, the CVO is more desireable than a 100th anniversary model.

I wouldn't even consider it for a minute. Yeah the 2003 might be an anniversary model, but there are tons of them on the road. The CVO is limited more than the 100th models were.

If you really want the 100th, offer to buy it straight out. He obviously doesn't ride it.

You will obviouly plan on riding the bike so then you'll have an 03 Silkver/Blk with miles on it. Question you have to ask yourself is if it had the same milege as your do you think it would be worth it. since that is what you would have in @2 years of riding. I would personnally stick with the SEEG. With the limited numbers (more so than the 03 Ultra) it would hold the value better.

There is no way I would trade the CVO for an older Ultra regardless of the miles. Your bike is very low mileage with only 12K and worth more.
