Default plug under seat

Hello everyone. Just bought a 07 street glide from a car dealer with 124 muiles on it. i did not get a manual with the bike and had a question. There is a electrical plug with a cap on it right below the seat area. What is it for?

Trace the wires, does it go to the battery only?

If it goes straight to the battery it may be a battery tender (Charger), a plug in for heated gear ora diognostics plug.

Post a picture of the plug, this might help youget a quicker and correct response.

Most likely it's for the battery tender. That way you don't have to take the seat off to trickle-charge the bike.

It could be for accessories, but I think it's more likely attached to the battery.

If it's one of those male/female combo connectors, it's most likely for the trickle charger that you can buy from the dealer. My dealer puts them on all the new bikes out the door as a convienence. Trace it back to make sure though. You can also make up a cig adapter to use for a quick charge on the cell phone etc....

There's an accessories connector and another connector for an optional security siren, both buried under the seat. But since it's an '07 and it sounds like you can see it pretty clearly, it sounds like the connector for the un-used exhaust actuator, also called an "Active Exhaust". This connector is also under the seat area but you can see it clearly from below. It's a 5 place "AMP" connector that only has 4 wires going to it but the connector is not connected to anything. Just uselessly hangs there with a cover on it. The rest of this funky exhaust actuator system is only on international models. It actuates a cable that controls a baffel in the exhaust pipe. An exhaust noise control system that we fortunately don't have to use here in the US.
