Why? American Legend/Made in China?

RE: Why? American Legend/Made in China?
I've been wearing these for about 15 years.
http://www.californialeathercreations.com/
They are the best leathers I've ever seen, and are USA made.
Back when I bought them, they had them in water buffalo so that's what I got. Real heavy duty. Now looks like only made from cow (steer) hide. Also back when I bought them, they were made by bikers.
Hope this helps.

Well...how bout if the leather comes from the good 'ole US of A and is exported to China.....and the chinese then sew the leather together into coats,vests,jackets,chaps....etc?....Incidentally your Average Harley Davidson Motorcycle consists of about 30% american made content!!!
Damn Shame guys!! We can all thank the big corporate ****** for farming out the country!!!

High end H-D leathers made in China?
Checked three dealers and they all seem to just hang their heads and look around
when asked why H-D supports products from Communist China.
What do ya'all think?? Should we care?
Personally, I think it sucks and let the dealer know it!
They sure charge a premium...must be the shipping!
Thanks for the feedback.
Great forum
ps Sure,H-D top of their line may not be for other companies. But I'd rather buy American or
as a 2nd-from Mexico.

If the rest of the world thought like the majority of the Americans and didnt care about the 'rest of the world', everyone would be in trouble.
It's about time the 'were the only ones that matter' attitude changed a little, that is the whole reason we have global warming and everyone is in a big panic about China.
Lets face it, without the 'rest of the world' Disney couldnt exist!...
Then what we do until we were old enough to ride?

They make it in China cause it costs less.
They did this cause the customer wanted to PAY less for the end product.
In the early 80's a TRS80 computer with a TAPE DRIVE cost almost $2000.
Today you can get a computer 1000x as fast with a HARD DRIVE for around $500.
This is due to outsourcing to places like China, and in turn has INCREASED the middle class.
So stop blaming the companies, this is what you wanted and benefited from.

Remember, they are in business to make MONEY not friends. The American citizens pay the price, both, monetarily and with the loss of jobs. It's a damn shame, but it's a fact of life.

When I was growing up EVERYTHING was Made in Japan. Now it's Made in China. It's called Global economics and who is the LOW cost producer? I just bought a chrome switch box/hand control set with chrome levers and master cylinder (probably) from China for $129 that HD sells for $400 or something stupid.
Personally, I think HD is screwed from all of these low cost producers that are not ripping off their customers like HD is. HD sales is going to suffer because of China. THEY need to accept REALITY and lower prices to compete in the global market or their sales will SUFFER. Just a FACT of global life.

I like the Harley leather and I think its decent quality and I really dont like the fact that its made in China either, or Indonesia or wherever. But everyone knows that Harley is a profit driven company. So with that, why should they buy from a U.S. supplier that will charge them more for the item because they pay their workers $10-15 an hour, when they can buy the product for much less from a Chinese sweat shop that pays the workers 50cents a day and a bowl of rice?
I wish all of their stuff was made in the U.S. but it is what it is.

We live in a market driven society in this country so buy which ever jacket you prefer. HD has quality leather jackets but so do several other companies. We each have different priorities to meet when we buy items such as jackets, and no one company will ever meet everyone's requirements. One thing this country gives us that most don't offer...if you think you can make a quality jacket with 100% American materials and labor, your free to start a company and give it a shot.
It would be a boring world if we all had the same jacket, boots, and jeans on though.

I wonder how many of these people that complain of "greedy, evil corporations" have tax shelters, 401k plans or other stocks options?
Cause if you do own stock in a company then YOU are the owner.
