Do you guys do all your own maintenance on your Rolexs cause you know "Real Watchers do all there own maintenance".

@Uncle Larry This thread like many here in General Chat, tend to go off the rails like a new rider entering a corner to fast! lol

I am approaching a milestone birthday and full retirement I been looking at them but haven't bought one..Big money but you only live once.
All automatic (auto winding) watches will need periodic servicing. Usually when some goes wrong. While I don't own a Rolex, I have a couple of Oris Big Pilots, and a IWC pilot. I bought the Oris watches used on Ebay. After two years one of them would not wind the day display. I sent both into the Oris service center and each one was $575 to fully disassemble, clean, new gasket, etc. Apparently like a Harley the service on these watches can be pricey to service at the dealer.

I've bought most of my watches on Ebay from Jewelers. All have been in VERY good condition and Ebay has a service to guarantee authenticity. (Seller sends to authenticator, authenticator sends to you). You see really nice watches that are traded or just sold. Kinda like low mileage Harleys you see traded in on newer models. Only I know they were used. Lol

Agree. I would rather visit the DMV than take a watch in for required routine service.
