Agree. I enjoy having one H-D. The 45-degree V-Twin is special. Before I owned two though, I would have a Ducati Monster 1200, a KTM 890 Duke R, a Kawasaki Z900RS, a BMW RT1250, a Guzzi V100 Stelvio, a Triumph Street Twin, a BSA Gold Star, a Yamaha VMAX, and a BMW R18.

I think that in most instances of a new model release a certain amount of apprehension is a good thing

That's almost word for word what my dealership owner who is a family friend told
me forty years ago ." If it's new and it's a Harley wait three years it so before you buy a new one..".

Can someone shed some light on issues owning a Rolex timepiece ?

Well, I think I've spent as much in maintenance on my Rolex Date as it would have cost me to buy a nice new Seiko every year for the past 40 years that I've owned it. However, I stopped wearing it when welding or pulling motors, I don't jump out of air planes anymore or scuba dive, so I am taking it a lot easier on the watch than when I was younger.

Have had mine 4 years now, wear it daily, hasn't been an expense for me at all, I suspect some day it will though.

Maybe Clounders can chime in if he's looking for a thread to spin.

Rolex’s while touted as a pretty robust timepiece, are required to be serviced by an authorized dealer and tech, they will hold this against you if you want to trade in or sell.
Now you may not have any issues it looks fine and keeps time as it should, but they will look up the record, every watch has a unique SN, and tech will put a cypher code inside so you can’t fudge it.
This means a watch with no service record will get boned for value on a trade in or sale.
I never wore mine had the factory box which I kept it in and all paperwork, the first offer was ridiculous and I just thanked and started walking, and then the jeweler not wanting to lose a mint Milgauss came up with another 2k

I wear a Apple Watch, on my third version and you can buy the Apple for the price of a Rolex service.

Thanks guys for the info on Rolex. Just wondering what " service ," they require. Since they are automatic timepieces what goes wrong with them? They don't require battery changes. I have a Tag, Cyma, and a Seiko. Always wanted a Rolex Submariner, Yacht Master or GMT Master, what issues have you guys experienced?
I am approaching a milestone birthday and full retirement I been looking at them but haven't bought one..Big money but you only live once.

^weird response but ok, the murf asked and that’s the deal with Rolex, service them on regular intervals or the value tanks, just a money grab after paying 10k or more
