That's his calendar @6113_. Shows most of the days of the month, then you need to carry the one.

I think Porsche is a better analogy than Rolex. No such thing as an entry level Porsche. Want an entry level Porsche? Buy a used one (if you can afford it). Sound familiar?

Bought a stainless Datejust, white gold bezel back in the mid 80s.
The price was $1700 new from an old, respected dealer.
The money was from the sale of my Sportster (the first time I thought I was done with riding)
Watch remains one of my favorite possessions, I don't remove it while doing chores.
Price has risen substantially, service when needed, expensive.
Some luxuries, Rolex, Harley, Langlitz jackets, quality 2A items, provide very many years service.
Best if you can afford to purchase while still young, enjoyed and cared for, then passed along.

You gotta wonder, with everyone's nose in their cellphones, why anyone would bother wearing a watch?
Anyway,no one makes a watch that I wouldn't accidently destroy in a week.

There must be a demand for them at that price. I believe they are a better investment than a new Harley, if that's what folks are looking for. I think the days of buying a Harley and holding on to it hoping it will appreciate in value are long over with. Overproduction, Leftover inventory, changing rider demographics, overpricing have all put that to rest. Buy one ride and enjoy it. It's all just money and when you're done, you can s look back and say, " Yeah, I had one of those, we had some fun too " Happy New Year..

Harley's have been just like the rest of the motorcycle world for 20+ years. Some models retained values, for collectors not riders. I do remember the EVO waiting lists, and some folks flipping bikes for more than MSRP. But That was gone by 1995. Harley boosted production and ended up with may dealers unable to sell their stock. That led to two-three years of leftovers. Some folks still cling to the "Harley's do not loose value" mantra. And find out when attempting to sell motorcycles. I know a few with 20 bikes now because they will not accept current selling values, their bikes have 40,000+ miles on them, and they are not meticulously maintained.

Nothing would **** me off more, than to be mugged and beat nearly to death for someone to steal a fake Rolex.

Oh yeah, I’ve been thinking about a sports car. And don’t get all righteous on me. But, I joined a bunch of Jaguar XK forums. And with all their quirks all the owners love them. It is nearly impossible to find a post of someone bashing their Jag or the “mothership”. And thanks to the ago old stigma of them being unreliable, which they aren’t anymore, they depreciate exponentially. How about a low mileage (40,000 or so), convertible Jag, with 510 HP for less than a new HD Limited?

Agree. I noticed a member selling a beautiful 2021 SG CVO for what I thought was a good price. Then I checked out JD Power. That is Ducati level depreciation.

Unlike Harleys the Sport model Rolexes two-tone models (sport models at least) cost the same or less .

Fortunately for me, I much prefer the two-tones.

Rolexes keep time about as well as Harleys accelerate.
