What's the purpose of riding with ape-hangers? Or is it just for looks? Please don't take offense to this if you have apes, I am just curious since I've been seeing them more and more lately.

 

I dont have apes but they are the coolest looking bars you can put on an old school Harley. I get it...

I've never ridden a bike with any other bars, but everyone says that apes are a lot more comfortable. They're my favorite bars as far as looks, and I doubt i'll ever have any other kind of bars on a bike unless it doesn't have them when I buy it..then it'll get apes as soon as I can get 'em on there probably.

Matter of personal preference. I think they look cool as ****, but I don't like riding with them. Personal preference, like I said.

It is like asking how much chrome is too much? Believe it or not, some Harley owners hate chrome, some like it and some just can't get enough of it. I like chrome a lot and would never own a night train because of the flat coloring and lack of chrome. But, a night train with black apes is down right cool looking.
