Ride a Sportster, you will have to defend it sooner than later. Once you realize the badmouthers are dicklesswimps it will roll right off and you can have that smug smirk knowing you are talking to someone that likes it both ways and the wrong way the most[:'(]

This may just be a rant.
Today I rode in poker run that was about 180 miles round trip. On the third leg I was following the same guy the entire way and you I could tell he was looking back trying to figure something out. So when we arrived at the next stop I parked next to him. The conversation when like this.....
Him: What sort of bike is that anyway, a low rider?
Me: No, it is a Soft tail, just a standard
Him: That thing sure is plain, not much chrome at all. What do those cost like 20k?
Me: No, not 20k.
Him: Oh that thing must have the small motor then.
Me (chuckling) Yeah just the 96 with the 6 speed.
I then walked away and thought WHAT A (insert 3 or 4 letter word)
I have had nothing but compliments on my bike and this was the first time someone has said negative things. I do realize the standard is the basic model, but it is what I like and it is the perfect bike for me. I have chubby drag bars and relocated front signals so far and I love the bike. I plan on adding more stuff when the $ is right. I think this guy has no idea what he is talking about. Has anyone else had some person do this to them. Whatever happened to "nice bike" what is with all this critiscm. I just figured I would vent a little and see what everyone thought of this guy. And if you are the guy who asks 100 questions just to respond with, negativity, spare some breath and don't ask. I love talking about bikes and asking questions but I never say oh I don't like that, or I would do it different.
What y'all think?

Some guy at an amusemnet park where bikes are allowed to park got of his plain Goldwing and told me my bike, since it has alot of metal flake in itlooks like a Bass boat!!! WTF!he kept walking away and his wife said she like it...then he agreed with her and said..yea, it's a nice color....I did take offense to my HD looking like a Bass boat...???? I got over it and just looked at what he was riding...as far as having a plain looking standard...that is the uniqueness of owning a HD..you can personalize it the way you want...there are all kinds of bikes that look nice with or without a lot of chrome....do as you please, or at least do as your money allows.$$$
ride on, ride a lot.
ride on, ride a lot.

Who gives a damn what it is.....it's two wheels ain't it?
wonder what he woulda said to that..........
I'll ride with anyone so long as they ride smart, don't care what they're on and if their bike isn't my style doesn't give me the right to dis their style.
I'm quite happy with my standard.
