Default Garage Queen

I was at the dealership today dropping off my bike to get work on. When this young couple came in they started to the service writer. Seems they just bought a 2012 iron 883 sportster it has 9.5 original miles on it. So everyone was curious so we walked outside to look at it on the trailer. We were told the original owner bought it and just rode around in his yard once in a great while . The new owner was dropping it off my new tires and to completely serviced. I have heard of garage queens but this was my first time ever seeing on

Original owner never even bought a tank of gas. Damn shame if you ask me.

I would not have touched that bike unless it was a screaming deal. You have not even dealt with any possible warranty issues.
Old gas? Dry seals? Wouldn't touch it.

The best I've ever done was under 2k. That bike was parked when new.

The test ride after dealer set up is usually twice that.

Well sure it goes without saying drain and put in fresh gas. 2012 seals? Buna-N and neoprene - ehh no worries; they quit using rawhide in your grandpappy's time. Heck yeah I would buy it. If kept inside it's a time capsule.

With a garage queen, I would be concerned with fuel system contamination and corrosion, as well as rust in the brake system. BTDT
