HD needs to find some decent looking cast wheels for the Heritage. Tube type tires are a deal breaker for me on a road bike.
Harley finally addressed the floppy bags problem in the last two years of twin cam Softail production (2016-17). They reinforced the bags internally and also "de-studded" them quite a bit which was also an improvement IMO.

After 3 years on the street glide I am still thinking of switching back to a softail or getting a second, more rider friendly, bike. But I like driving/riding paid for vehicles so I am content for now.
I have a 14 SGS, 04 FB and a 19 heritage (wifes bike mainly ), once I put the 04 wide glide bars on the 04 FB it is my favorite bike to ride, even when going out for several hours. I take it more than I take the 14 SGS. Italked about selling the SGS but the wife keeps talking me into keeping it.

They have always turned my head. I guess because of the nostalgic look. The new one's don't have the same appeal to me. They need to be chrome. But that's just my humble opinion.

I'm a chromeasexual myself, my wife likes the more black out look including the blacked out studs on the newer heritages,

That's not bad. I've always said "studs for a stud!"

The twin cam era Heritage Softails are the best looking factory bikes Harley has ever produced. There is a mechanical beauty that is d@mn near perfect. Real chrome horseshoe oil tank, chrome exposed oil lines, big FL front end, chrome studs, custom looking seats, mini apes, fender lights, passing lamps, and geometric perfection with the frame.

The new version may be technically superior but it has lost a lot of its beauty IMHO….YMMV

This was my 1990 Heritage Classic, I did the 5 gal 2 tone custom paint, & added the early emblems & etc. I really liked it, & named her Lucy. But time marched on. Got an offer I couldn't refuse, back when ppl waited 1 year or so to get a new one.

Former: 1990 Heritage (Lucy)

Not too much difference in the EVO vs the Twin Cam. Other than the motor of course. Aesthetically about the same.

EVO

Twin Cam

Back when I was building bikes I would write down my ideas and when I came to terms with my ideas I would build it. The Heritage was the bike that helped me stop building at least I blame it for. So after a year or two writing down ideas I started looking for a canvas IE bike to start with. That same year Harley came out with the Hartage beautiful bike and the one I had down on paper..I have only owned one a 92 and think it is the most classic HD made.

After 37 years of production, how much attention does it need?
