Call Foremost, which is Harley Davidson's insurance company. I just turned 33 and drive a $30K+ bike and full coverage was $530/annually, cheaper than Progressive and the lizard...

Default RE: New rider Insurance??

I have both my bikes covered thru Nationwide, they just came out with new rates to get comptetive with other insurance companies. I pay 700 a yr for both bikes, everything but collision as they are both paid for. $100 deductable on comprehsive, covered for fire, theft, and vandalizum. Also have uninsured/under insured, and $1000 coverage for any medical that my health insurance or the other party might not cover. (deductables, ect) But I do have a good driving record, have rode for years and have muti-car/bike discount, plus my homeowners is with them. Also I have an extra $5000 over book value on the fatboy. They told me if thats what I had the bike insured for then if I wasn't at fault theat fault insurances company would have to go up to that price if totaled. Hope that's not a lie. They are going to call me back the first of the week on rates for full coverage. I live in NC whereas they say insurance is high. I do know they just cut these new rates the 1st of Aug. ended up saving me about $240 a year, so that tells me they was way to high, and are now more closer to being in line. Plus I like doing all my insurance business with the same company, been with them for yrs and yrs. Good Luck!

I'm pretty sure uninsured motorist coverage also covers damage to your bike if you're in an accident caused by someone who doesn't have liability coverage.
Uninsured and Underinsured motorist coverages only address yours or your passenger's medical claims against another, at fault party. You only have coverage on your stuff if you carry comp or collision, or if you are able to collect from an "at fault" party (or their insurer).
