raced dirt stock cars, used the same K & N for 10 years, can't beat them...both my HDs have K&N

 

I got the $80 price tag from the website, i clicked buy online just to see what they cost and thats what the site price is. I checked ebay cheapest is $60, and cant find them on autozone, advance autoparts, pepboys, etc.. websites. The filter I need is K&N part # HD-1499 for a 03 heritage classic

Just one other question, on the site they show just the filter, then they show custom assembly kits. Do I need to buy any kind of installation kit or can I just buy the filter and install it in place of the regular HD filter I have on now?

 

Is there any danger in just using a K&N air filter without making any other mods such as a different exhaust and fuel managment?

 

if Your A/C is stock, I'd suggest the Ness Big Sucker, kit comes with back plate and air filter...and price around before buying...

 

K&N here use it on all vehicles and scoots

 

I had the SE kit installed not long ago, and the dealer recommended using a K&N filter instead of the SE filter.
Being the skeptic that I am, I did a little research and decided he wasn't just tryng to make an extra buck. Went ahead with it, don't have any complaints.
