Owned ZX 9's' 10's & 12's. Had my share of BMW's. On my fourth Harley this year & this EG is a keeper. It does everything well & will cruise at 90 MPH without taking a deep breath.

thanks for all the replys. My dealer is open on sundays for riding classes (no sales )so Ilooked around. There is a 07 road glide demo with 1200 miles on it and lots of chrome for $17,500 . Might be an option. or I will just get an 08 for the better brakes and fuel capacity. Depends if I can beat them down on the 07 .

Softails may look nicer, but it took exactly one ride to convince me to trade my Fatboy for an Ultra. Not a single regret since!

My husband has a Softail and an Electra Glide. If I'm not riding my Wide Glide, I'd ride the Electra Glide over the Softail any day. I've ridden them both, and I think the Electra Glide handles better, and of course it's a more comfortable ride. I think one day I'll have a touring bike of my own...just have to wait till the timing's right.

My wife and I had a 1200 custom for almost 5 yrs.!!!!!!!!!!! 18,000 miles on that thing. Went to the Ultra!! WILL NOT go back to anything else!! We love it.....though the one post was correct, the wife does not like the saddle bag crash bars...same thing, back of the calf is bothered..but we did get the Kury adjustable pegs, problem is gone...I still will look into those angled crash bars which puts its lower yet....
ride on, ride a lot!!!

The best thing is just to get a taller wife and forget modifying the bike.
