MC Patchholders
I know there are several here. Not talking about Riding Clubs or Associations but "traditional" Motorcycle Clubs. It takes dedication and HARD WORK to get a patch. It's even harder to keep said patch in some clubs. For what reason(s) besides the brotherhood (that's a given)to go through the ordeal to get patched? For the uninitiated there's the hang around period, prospecting, mandatory runs, mandatory club functions, mandatory this and that... Gotta act a certain way at certain times and around certain people... Many clubs are run kinda "military" in nature. There's the protocols and what not... Why do it?
For me, it's the brotherhood (it's like no other that I know of) and the acceptance of certain groups and individuals that made me gravitate toward a certain club. There's the "overall" focus of the club and what it's all about. The "work" of the club so to speak...
No need to mention the club, just wondering what drives some men to join these types of clubs. I know what does it for me, what about you?

OK, I won't mention the Colors or Club, but for me going probie was indeed the brotherhood.
I'll ride with anyone but my true bros will do anything for each other and are out riding for the ride.

I guess my thinking is different that most peoples. I had (still have) enough structure and protocol in my daily life to not want or need it in my riding. Besides, I enjoy the experience more when I'm riding alone.

I'm not a patchholder, probie, or anything like that. But something draws me to it. I'm sure if I had the opportunity, I would go through whatever to join a club. For me it would be the brotherhood. I think that's probably one of the big reasons I joined the military way back when.

I am not in a club but I have some family members who are and I ride with them once in awhile and I have to tell ya there is something about pulling up somewhere or just coming down the highway with 15-20 bikes its a feeling I can't explain.Especially with all the patches on.

In the 80's i was a patch holder, but never again. Some in the club were so lowlife that I could never call them my brother, nor continue my association with them. They were weeded out over time. That same club is now a Hell's Angels chapter, and most of them(the ones I have met/know)arejust everyday hardworking guys. The club prez is still a friend of mine and I have the greatest respect for him. I just prefer not to be a patchholder ever again. To each his own. Good riding to ya.
