I've had stock, Saddlemen, Mustang, Seat Concepts, and probably a few others. Nothing comes close to the Harley Sundowner. That's been my favorite of the bunch.

 

Asking what is the "best" seat is kind of like asking what is the "best" slip-on muffler. Asses and ears differ, so what works for you might not work for me.

 

Damn, I forgot about the Sundowner. I take back my vote for the Mustang, the Sundowner is the best seat I ever sat my *** upon.

 

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the RDL seat. It's one of those so-called "custom made " seats.

 

LePera RT66. We had it customized and restyled by Custom Stitching Co. To me it's really more of a saddle than a motorcycle seat. I never enjoyed riding on a foamy cushion.

 

I tried stock(not bad for an hour-then pure pain!), Saddleman, La Pera, Mustang, etc....but nothing comes close to my H-D Sundowner. All day long ride comfort.

 

Most comfortable seat I ever had was a Corbin solo.

OK I'll mention it. Yes. The Russell Day Long is a custom fitted/made seat.

The name is appropriate - once fitted correctly, it's truly a day long seat. AFAIK RDL is a favorite in the Iron Butt competition.

Can't speak from personal experience, but based on design, if I had to search for an alternative, I'd probably investigate police/tractor seats.







The RDL is the best seat my butt has ever parked itself on.

 

My stock seat on my 2018 Heritage suits me just fine.

54,000 miles and multiple 500-600 mile days and I am quite comfortable.

Guessing I am in the minority.
