I move the SGS slowly to the end of the car port and sit there at idle as I gaze off into distance over the roof tops of the houses across the street it is at this time I ask God to provide me with a safe ride, when I return home I thank Jesus for safe passage.
I listen intently to the sound of the exhaust cooling and other noises coming from the engine, It's a peaceful sound as I take off my gear as I hear my doggo whining at the door waiting for me to come in so she can slobber all over.

Every time , right before my ride , I start the bike and just stand there for a minute , close my eyes , listen to that engine purr , then off I go .
It's like my bike is telling me " C'mon , lets go "
I know what you mean by the ticking , but I never did like getting home , always feel it's never long enough .

Chris you would enjoy the Needles this time of year - it's popping with color and just past peak. It's different here, the pines stay green but the other trees turn yellow/gold and they really stand out. Too cold to ride today, 44, foggy with misting rain. 70 degrees in RC and dirt biking on Sunday, the weathers going to turn back to fall again.

Yuppers.
That feeling getting off and being all relaxed and super JOYFUL. Hot and sweaty since I live in S FL and knowing a beer would go GOOD right about that time.......often late afternoon.
And being in S. FL, making it back alive kissing the ground.

This post aged well, considering only a few months after posting it my life would changed. I still enjoy that ticking sound, and now than ever. Thank you for all the feedback. I really do hope it helps put things in perspective. Life really is too short to not enjoy it and know how good we have it just being alive.
