Thank you.

I cast them from bronze using lost wax process. I CNC the back to ensure a dead flat gasket surface.

Isn't a derby cover but I had speedo done.

Also my points cover is a custom hand carved bit gifted to me a long time ago.

Who make the cover you have? Any down sides with it?
First of all, my screen name was changed by IZZO (a mod here called him while we were on the deck drinking and he changed it) while I was on the road with other forum members in South Dakota last year. I had no say and no control. We were drinking and I mentioned something but said I had no regerts, like the tattoo. Like a road name, it stuck.

As far as the derby, it's an "off-the-shelf" part from Trask Performance. I bought it in raw and had it coated with my other parts when I got those done. The derby itself has not leaked at all and looks fantastic. The best part is, and yes, it's a good thing, is the o-ring is a standard piece that can be purchased in bulk and easy to replace. No more HD only o-ring.

I've thought about making some from aluminum, but haven't ever gotten around to it. No reason it wouldn't work, but it would take some time figuring out how to finish it. I've spent a lot of years working out patina formulations for bronze. Aluminum would be a different ball game.

That’s a great story about the screen name! Got to watch that IZZO, he’s trouble?

I was showing the Carolina Girl all these derby covers and much to my surprise he loved the Trask Assault cover like yours. We have a black and chrome theme going, so we ordered a black one from Dennis Kirk. The 5k service is due, so the timing is perfect. She’s been watching some YouTube and people are Painting that outer center piece on the clutch. She’s thinking about going purple, we’ll see.

Thanks
