What's a Fair Price for this Harley?
I am looking for a project Shovelhead, maybe to build a bobber.
This is 1980 FLT, engine runs fine. 5 speed, S&S super e Carb. Owner claims 15K original miles.
Electric start. Clean title.
I am not familiar with prices for this bike/years. I have noticed Shovelheads dont last long in the market.
Does lack of kick start make much difference in price?
For those of you familiar with these bikes and the market, What would be a fair price for this bike, assuming it's as described?

IMHO, that's way too much!
Not sure if link will work, but here's one that appears to offer more and is about half the price. Not sure where "south" is, but this one is in Florida.

$2,850
Ad states, "Bike runs and drives great lots of new parts new starter new starter Drive new clutch new clutch hub 10 to 1 Keith Black pistons EV 27 cam all new gaskets throughout the whole motor."
my .02.

I'd still be hard-pressed to part with 5K for a bike in that condition. But, that's okay. One less person you'd have to stand behind in line to buy it. Let us know what you decide and what you do with it.

Is it a matching numbers bike? I seriously doubt that it is. That motor is way to clean to have sat in that frame for 42 yrs. And what's up with that hideous headlight housing that they started to spray paint and stopped?
If the motor is sound and the numbers match and the bike runs down the road that's a decent price. I would offer $4,000 - $4,500 and go from there. Just my opinion.
Lots of new old stock Shovelhead parts on ebay and other places. If you got it I would piece it together with parts like that instead of China bullshit....
