Not surprised the hd filter is poorly made...made by the lowest bidder doesn't get you the best there is. I didn't know that Fram made a chrome filter for HD till now. I'll look for them on my next trip to the parts store. I've been using the k&n mainly because of the nut on the end.

Watched a couple of times and the number for the HD filter didn't show up on Ronnies micro fiches, and my HD filters (5 micron) out in the garage were nowhere near the number given. Now my filters are for TC 88's and 103.

I ordered a Fram 6022 just so I can cut the damn thing apart. Fram used to be the worst filters on the shelf. I want to see, and I have a filter cutter in my tool box.

I always thought oil filters were for filtering oil.

Not sure what purpose cutting them up does to demonstrate the filtering ability. LMFAO!!

I don’t believe the “new” H-D filter in his video is the current new H-D filter for the M8. Watch the video below and you can see what the new M8 oil filter looks like. Completely different filters.

More of a test of what micron size filtration is best, good information, but not really a filtration quality test. Besides that, I would lean toward Kevin Baxter's recommendations, I haven't seen him steer anyone wrong yet, especially over idiots cutting apart an oil filter.

Interesting how many believe the ignorance of which filter is best over just cutting it in half and looking at it. LMFAO!!

I'll say right now that FRAM is the best oil filter on the market, it's an orange color and that color filters oil the best. Take it to the bank. LMFAO!!!

This idiot has cut apart 100s in his career, as a requirement following dyno testing, and engine failure analysis. My mentioning of doing so was just to explore his reporting of the construction.

I have seen Fram filter end caps come loose from the filter media, causing a failure, and was curious if they had improved their construction as reported by that guy. By all means keep LYFAO

I'm getting to the point of charging more to service bikes when I see that nut. People seem to want to overtighten because of it. Last one the nut rounded trying to get it off it was so tight.
I've never had a need for it when it's not over-tightened.
wix or napa gold. Same filter.
No fram anything here. Walmart uses fram. Should be reason enough. If not, coming apart is.
