I have a Mustang seat on my Heritage Classic. Does that make it a custom?

My Shovel is +.010" over pistons, S&S rods, balanced crank, Factory-hardened seats in the heads, Sifton 113 cam, Competition Cams pushrods, Jim's big-axle hydraulic lifters, S&S shorty E carb, V-twin individual oil lines, S&S oil pump, Hayden primary chain tenshioner, Progressive suspension, modified Mustang seat (by Alligator Bob - not a bargain), and the entire front end along with misc. parts has been chromed. Retro Flash Gordon style mufflers from J&P. I welded a better tab on the kickstand and re-chromed that. Laydown license plate from somewhere, and re-painted in Ford & Chrysler colors w/graphics.
I guess it might be custom, but you don't see most of it. Don't care...she'll run across the entire country with the big boys any day of the week.

First time I've seen your shovel, nice.

The seat is cool but those fringes hanging off the bars are what truly make it custom.

Thank you. That list might seem ambitious, but that's over a period of 40+ years, riding and wearing out stock parts along the way.
It ain't no hot rod, but reliable as hell. Only broke on the road twice, in all that time. Not bad for an AMF
Turned down a lot of offers to sell it, including one from a cop that pulled me over (no ticket).

So your saying that “No fat chicks” sticker on my rear fender doesn’t make my bike “custom”?

It does if it functions as designed.

Had that little experience, only reason they stopped me was to check out the bike. Guy wanted one and had all kinda questions, we spent probably 1/2hr on the side of the road just talking bikes
