Default Tire wear

I just put a new Dunlop on the rear of my heritage last fall only about 6000 miles ago. Went to check my tire pressure today and noticed it was already down to the wear bands. Anyone else have one wear that quick? I haven't, no burnouts no hard downshift very little two up. Lots of mountain backroads and interstates.

Which Dunlop's? Some series are not recommended (By Dunlop) for Harley's.

I usually get 10-1100 miles on mine. Gotta ask, what tire pressure do you run? How often do you check it? And lastly, can you verify the alignment is spot on?

I had it put on at harley its the stock harley Dunlop. I run 40psi rear which is what my frame sticker says. And I check it once a week and it very rarely needs air stays pretty consistent.

Bought mine used from a friend with 10k miles.
He bought it new.
It was on it's second set when I bought it (Harley Dunlop)
Toast at 16k...so that means 8k on the rear is about it

I put Shinko's on it and they're at 8k now.
The rear won't last the season, but guesstimating they'll go another 2k or so

40PSI cold on the rear

I average 5000 on the rear and 10000 on the front. Spirited rider. Dunlops, Metzlers, pirellis.

I got 7500 miles off of Dunlop 401’s. (3 sets)
Switched to Michelin Commander II and got about 10,000 miles.
Switched to Dunlop American Elites and after 6000 miles found a cut in the tire but the tread looked good.
Put on another Dunlop American Elite about 700 miles ago so we’ll see.

Depending on how you ride if your tire is a Dunlop 401, 6000 miles does not seem to be that unusual.

Just changed the rear with 10600 mi on it. I got 12500 mi out of the one before that. Both D404s. 2000 FXDWG, ridden fairly aggressively, combo of local, mountain road and interstates. 6K mi sounds low to me too My book says 36 psi for 1-up. That's where I keep it.

The 402 wide whitewalls I ran on my ‘94 Heritage lasted between 6,000 and 8,000 miles. The stock Dunlop rear tire on my ‘19 Heritage (whatever that is) goes 10-11,000 miles.

Didn't catch year, but my 2020 Road Glide gets hella mileage compared to previous Harley's. 98 Wide Glide and 02 Road King, lucky to get 10k, averaged 8k. New bike, 13.5k on rear, replaced because tread depth was at recommended replace. Front I replaced at 23.5k or so, almost double the rear. It too was replaced as well. On the old bikes I changed when wear bars were present or I seen the red stripes. Bike frames, suspension, alignment is leaps and bounds today. I could have probably gotten another couple K's if I went by my old ways...
