That is miles. have never got that many on a rear before, have a set of American Elites to install when those are worn out.

Yeah meant 11,000 miles. Also just wanted to mention there was a recall on my bike for the frame label. Tire pressures were incorrect. Good thing I went by the Owners Manual.

Does the American elite come in radial tires or just bias ply?

I think you'll love the Elites compared to the stockers. Keep the pressure to spec and you should get 10K or more.

while they do offer some radials, the oem sizes are bias. plus the radials that are offered do not have the appropriate load range for a touring bike.

Just replaced a Michelin Commander 2 with 10,000 miles on it. Most that I have ever got from a rear tire. 2007 Ultra. Going back with a Michelin Commander 3. Hoping that I get as much or more out of the 3.

American Elites in 180 55 18 seem to be out of stock on the few sites I checked. I've got just under 14,000 miles on my RG and am planning ahead for at least the rear.

Separately, I've run Avons on several other bikes for their handling - especially wet ... but the trade off is wear, which is OK with me on the bikes I ride more aggressively.
