Default Why is HD NOT releasing touring bikes from the warehouse????

My Blue Steel Street Glide is stuck in the Australian HD warehouse for over 3 weeks now and the dealer is saying that HD USA are not telling them why the touring bike (ONLY) can NOT be released from the warehouse. The soft tails have been released over 2 weeks ago but they are NOT releasing the touring bikes. I have been informed that all dealers are facing the same issue. Can anyone shed any light on the situation?

Probably not enough ECMs. Chip shortage is doing the same to a ton of cars. Not enough computers for vehicles right now.

If that was the fact them the bike would most likely still be in the USA factory. The bike has been shipped to Australia and is sitting in the HD warehouse. HD are not saying why they are not releasing the touring bikes. If there is a problem with a 3rd party supplied part that has been fitted then HD should just let there loyal bike owners know. Not saying anything at all is making me very frustrated when you know your bike is in the country but is stuck in a holding warehouse for an unknown reason.

Not the first time I have heard this. There often seems to be problems between HD Aust and the mother ship in the USA. Similar happened to me back in 2017. Bike arrived but sat in the warehouse for a month - no explanation then either. Also seems to happen a lot with parts. The 3 Aussie dealers I deal with have regularly said there is problems with getting the parts from the USA and it is between the USA and Aust HD offices - but never any details - and I know the parts are readily available in the US as I have checked a couple of the US dealer sites (but they are not allowed to sell internationally now)

HD shut down production recently for a couple of weeks due to a suspected compliance issue on a component. Maybe.....the Touring bikes in the warehouse were shipped with that part and it needs to be swapped out before they can release the bikes?

If I remember correctly, the reason for the shutdown was because of a part that didn't meet US EPA requirements.
If that is the case, would it really matter if the bike was not manufactured for sale in the U.S.?

It's an evil, diabolical plot to deprive you of your motorcycle. Might have something to do with 5G, Bill Gates and magnets.

Might be a import tax/fee thing and HD is waiting to get their receipt from Aus gov.

I certainly do not know any more (and perhaps less) than many here but are Australian emissions regulations similar or tighter than USA's?

That or Keithhu may be on to something.

Well, if corporate won`t say and your dealer doesn`t know , it seems unlikely that anyone here as the real answer .
