I think the mounting plate is a separate part, but it is well worth it. Your front end is not going to go anywhere, but I suggest strapping the rear end in-place so it doesn't move around. I always pull the front end towards the chock just to be safe. HD has a kit that you can put on the front tubes that has eyelets to attach the hook into.

Thanks 2goldens, the Bike Pro Removable chocks sound like what I am looking for. I don't/wont be trailering the bike too often but it is a pain in the butt having to try to find someone top follow me to an Indy if I have to leave the bike for whatever reason, then have to take me back to get it. Pain in the rear being the only driver in the family
