Went to the dealer and they said “your good” went to another dealer and they said different and were concerned and fit me it that day for new tires and kept apologizing for the other dealer. So new tires and a big piece of mind. Bike had 4400 miles on it and in a month I put 1200 on it. Not bad for my first bike. Just buzz it around after work till my head is empty.

Looks like I'll have a chance to take my own advice...
Yesterday I picked up a 2013 model Japanese cruiser that still has the original tires on it. Only 6,000 kms (3,700 miles) on the odometer and by all outward appearances the tires are still good - plenty of tread left, no cracking or dry rot - but on the 30 mile ride home I could tell those tires were toast. Hard as bricks, they were. So new ones have been ordered.
