Default Cannot decide ? Tractor or standard seat ?

On my Harley I currently use the Mustang wide tripper seat with Marine quality cover and a fiberglass pan . Very good quality compared to the made in Mexico original Harley seat . I have developed some very bad lower back pain and the holes and bumps in our PA roads are killing me , (PA almost has the highest state tax on gas in the nation ) Mother Roads Custom sells a foam padded all leather seat and their in house made steel hardware mounting kit , all bolt on for $619.00 . It is expensive, however being only 5"7 I still think I can flat foot as the Mustang seat is very wide at the nose . Question is will the tractor /springer seat offer a better ride ? Is it worth the premium price ? Thanks

The standard police seat will sit you higher. There is a mod to lower it but I've never seen one installed to speculate on final seat height. Back supports are almost non existent for cop seats and one I saw at e glide goodies is not adjustable.
I ride on a CVO hammock touring seat that is very comfortable but is probably an inch or so higher than a stock seat. You could check with your local dealerships for loaner seats to try before buying.

I installed the HD sprung solo seat on my Heritage and never looked back. It’s simply the most comfortable seat I’ve ever used on a motorcycle. I’m not sure of the current price but the part number is 52006-47B. I used the mount kit for the Softail Slim with a homemade adaptor bracket.

The “old school” look was a plus. At least SOME part of the M8 Heritage now looks like a vintage Harley-Davidson.

I actually like the higher saddle position as it gives me extra legroom. I’m 5’8” with a 30” inseam and I can just about flat-foot the bike barefoot since the saddle nose is so much narrower.

Oh yeah, the springs really do improve the ride.
