Well, you could always ride your motorcycle to the Sturgis Motorcycle rally.

I rode there last year with my friends, met @rizzo and spent a little bit on fuel over the 4400 miles for the 10 days I spent. Trip was priceless. The fuel costs have not slowed me down much, and wouldn't stop me from riding up if I were so inclined.

I used to do that. but, being 2K miles away I can no longer do that. Would still love to ride up. Maybe next year take a week each way.

Anybody coming out - take the weather seriously. Today the chance of rain was not expected with a 20% chance in late afternoon. We've had a hellacious hail storm for the last 20 minutes. Some quarter to golf ball size, haven't been able to get out and survey the damage yet.

Beware when you're out here, the storms can crank up very quickly and be severe...

these have melted since they fell but you get the idea.

weather has been horrible this year, storms just come out of nowhere. have managed to dodge two storms while out on the bike, last one was the other day up in sturgis.

Was that today, 7-8-2022? I know there was hail yesterday but haven't seen any other reports about today. Hope all is well.

Just found this thread. I'm still going. Yeah it's going to cost more, but you never know when you won't be able to go again.
