I am thinking about buying a Davida Classic Jet helmet http://www.davida.co.uk/type.php?id=classic-Jetand was curious to know if anyone had one or has worn one and what they thought about it. I know there are cheaper helmets, and so on but I like the style and choices with this paticular company. Any thoughts?

Thanks dude, but its a no go.... If you look at the Davida web site, youll see that thier sorty helmets arnt DOT. Since my wife and I just had our son (2 months old now) Ive been doing some thinking and want to get a 3/4 DOT or better helmet for when I ride. Its a personal decision that if I should happen to go down (knock on wood) that I would like to protect my head with somthing better than my novelty. Besides, 3/4 helments done right look cool (Easy Rider) and I figure that 3/4 Vs. half helmet the 3/4 will protect more. But Thanks for lookin out Anubisss, and YUCK the helmet with the eyes is Funkin awsome....

I too looked into the Davida Classic Jet...but ended up getting a Z1R Jimmy Retro. Very similar look, DOT Certified, and there are a few color/stripe options: http://www.z1rhelmets.com/product.js...tegory_id=1189.

I went with the Black with Silver stipes.

Z1R helmets rated very highly in terms of crash protection in some write-up in some motomag awhile back.

Best part? Cost me about $50 - and you can even find them on amazon.com.

Davida's are great - if you're wanting to do more research, ping some of the cafe racer forums...those helmets are very popular with those riders.

 

I ride with a Davida Jet. I have the black one with the silver flame paint job.

It's a great lid and fits like a glove, the leather lining is really comfortable and stays warm in the cold and cool in the warm!!

The Davida range look very cool IMHO if you like the retro look which I do - I think they suit HD well.

The only thing to consider is the sizing as they do come up quite small compared to other helmets. In the end I had to go for the XXL size where I would normally be an L or XL. I wouldn't buy without trying one on first.
