I don't do the determining. It's the law that determines it. But hey, go ahead and be a general dick, if it makes you happy. Have a nice f...ing life.

Thank you I will and I have. No Regrets On My Part. But as always, laws are different all over aren't they? Have some crackers with your whine.

"Think about the action you’re considering and ask yourself, “Can I want this action to become a universal law that everyone follows?”"
Is life better, is the world a better place, if everyone goes around making noise all the time? Or would life be better, the world a better place, if everyone respected silence and made no noise? Given that science and medicine have established an immutable correlation between noise (music and otherwise) and negative health effects, I lean* towards the latter. Personally, I think a lot of people fill the air with noise because they're afraid of their thoughts, or perhaps lack thereof.
Obviously the choice is not binary. The topic of debate is "where do we draw the line?", and problems only arise when someone picks one extreme or the other. Personally, I see no issue in playing tunes while you're cruising the highway or at a rally. In public spaces such as parks and beaches, however, it's not only tacky and classless, but as proven time and time again by numerous studies, it's detrimental to people's health.
But, hey, people are going to do what they want to do without a second thought. This is why I own property far from civilization: so that I don't have to listen to any noise.
