D-Bags with the loud stereos.

Not a Fan of obnoxious stereos on Bikes, Cars, or trucks. Not a fan of obnoxious exhaust on bikes either. I usually ask those with obnoxious exhaust if they would like to race.
Doesn't need to be loud and obnoxious to make big power. Only time my bike is loud is if I am getting on it hard. Music is loud when on interstate or else where over 55 mph,

I wonder if they think everyone wants to listen to the same **** they listen to? I wonder if they know most everyone is laughing at them because they look like a 16 year old kid cruising the HS parking lot trying to draw attention.
JMHA but, it just looks and sounds idiotic. LOOK AT ME!!!!!

Only thing I'd consider hypocritical is if those with blaring pipes and loud speakers pi55 'n moan about the kids at the light or gas station with their bump'in megawatt systems

Haha exactly my thought. Like the D Bags with straight pipes and the “Loud pipes saves lives” shirt. Lol. Loud pipes create laws because you annoy older folks and every day citizens that don’t ride.
what travels faster? Light or Sound?

It's the modern version of the 80s boomboxes, one guy blasting Judas Priest walking down one side of the Street, another Blasting Run DMC on the other side of the street...then they invented the Walkman personal stereo in the 90s...things go full circle...me I have teh ability to listen to music inside my head while riding..I dunno if I am intelligent or stupid, but I don't need a stereo on my Harley...modern music sucks anyway, when did musicians stop being able to play good music? where is the modern day Jimmy Page and John Bonham..yeah I know too much work I guess..

No matter what you're into, there always has to be someone taking it to an obnoxious level.
One of my neighbors has straight pipes, so he turns the stereo up above that, and then warms up in his driveway for 1/2 hour.
I don't let it aggravate me too much. Life is easier that way, and I'm moving to the country some day soon.

Sometimes I am that D-bag. I listen to my music when I ride and turn it up at highway speeds. I try to be considerate of others and turn it down when slowing or stopping, but sometimes it isn't always possible due to other vehicles, intersections, distracted drivers, etc. But as soon as I can safely do so, I turn the volume down.
I don't care what other people think about me. I gave that up a looooong time ago. If you want to waste your energy hating on me, go right ahead. I don't care.
You ride your ride, I'll ride mine.

The audio quality from an open-air bike is not much different than that from a boat or a convertible... it takes way too much investment to make a stereo like this sound good when the volume is turned up.
I don't even recall the last time I turned my bike radio on except to prove that it still works.
I've probably got close to $1,000 into the stereo setup in our Jeep, and that's not being over the top with any of it.
$200 for a decent BT receiver.
$200 for a modest 4-channel amp.
$200 for a powered 8" sub unit that fits under the drivers' seat.
$300-$400 for speakers (we have a total of 8).
It sounds decent with the top off, but still lacks the full range of many setups, and that's ok because we can finally hear it on the freeway.
There simply isn't enough room to install a decent audio setup on a bike without investing 3-4 times that, and I simply don't see the point when a $250 BT helmet and a phone that I already have works great.
