as said, its not if, its when...last one for me was a deer at 55 MPH had a few before but that one hurt the worst, not near as bad as some, but then is any crash good?? I am now a member of the C.O.B.B. Society

Laid my ZX-7R down on some esses, followed a line and caught their debris breaking my back tire loose (escaped pretty lucky). Looped a CR250 in 3rd gear on the road (that one hurt).

What is the COBB all about? I qualify by definition alone. As far as wrecking is concerned, I have had my share but I still ride as much as I can.

 

none in the last 15yrs,3 accidents, worse one wasn't my fault,freind on bike next to me was killed in it,the other 2 was definetly my fault,illegal substances were involved,poor judgement.

 

First one at age eight on a scooter, on the road, loose sand on a sweeper, slid quite far. Next one age sixteen, sidewiped a '65 Galaxie on a CB450. I had changed lanes without looking, didn't go down. Next one in England, ancient cager pulled right out in front of me and stopped, blocking both lanes. Then the big one, passing an SUV and he U-turned about 12 feet in front of me going about 30. Off work two and a half years, many operations, etc. Got back on two wheels and six months later an English mailman came the wrong way out of a one way street! Another year off work. Back home in the USA now, and so far been lucky. Or maybe I've become more defensive? Been riding 46 years, averaging a crash about every ten years. I'm not counting dirt bikes, by the way. You can't do motocross and not crash, I think. I'll take the blame for the first two, after that it was just unavoidable. I think that the greatest danger on our roads is all of the idiots on cell phones, and that includesd LEOs, I see them every day blabbing away on their cells, not their radio. In England it's now a $120 fine and three points on your license for a first offense. Fact is, you are four times more likely to be involved in acrash while on your cell.

 

I was hit two different times setting at a red light. People in cars just do not want to stop for traffic light even if a motorcycle is setting at a red light. It's like pick your feet up, here we go.
