Default How does the ride feel between these years?

I have a 2009 Ultra classic, and I am looking real hard at a 2020 ultra limited with 10K on it. My question is, what kind of ride differences are between these two years? what's the power curve difference between a 103 and the 114?

I can say that I had a '00 Ultra Classic for 13 years and I've had my '13 CVO Ultra for more than 9 years.

The ride is pretty much the same and you need to play with air shock PSI (if equipped) and adjust rear tire pressure to your load or you can have a overly stiff ride.

I think the ride of my ‘03 and my ‘12 is pretty different. I’m curious how different the M8 ride is.

Can you test ride the bike?

A lot less vibration. I feel like the m8 pulls a bit more as well. At first I didn't like the m8 (test rode em when they first came out) but now I love mine, even though it's a 107.

I went from an 09 Street Glide (65k miles) to a 14 Ultra Limited (50k miles) to my current ride, a 2020 Ultra Limited (currently at 10k miles).

The SG was a bit more harsh due to a lower ride height (12 inch shocks) and had a 96 ci engine. I changed out the crappy air shocks to Progressives. Problem solved. I loved that bike.

The 14 UL had the HO 103 Rushmore and it was a noticeable increase in power. The ride still sucked because of the air shocks. I replaced them with Ohlins. Problem solved. I loved that bike.

The 2020 UL came with the HD Premium hand adjusted shocks. I put those on the 14 and moved the Ohlins from the 14 to the 20. Ride is the same. The M8 is a great engine and pulls strong in every gear. But it's never enough is it? I just did the Stage IV 131 kit, so there's that.

The frame is the same from 09 through current model years on the touring platform. There have been minor tweaks along the way but the ride is basically the same.

Hope this helps you.

OP- are you asking about ride quality, as in suspension, or are you asking about the performance of the different motors?

Yes, Both. I noticed what I thought was a big change from my '03 to the '09. The '09 just handled better. Engine wise, the noise any better or still like twin cam?

I had a 10 STG and now a 19 STGS and there is no comparison over all. I find my engine is much quieter compared to the twin cams i had. IMHO, u would not be disappointed in that ultra limited. The 114 is a great motor.
