I was looking at one of these new Lithium batteries but will stick with the OEM battery. For the price they're pretty good. I'm on my third riding season with my original battery and it's still going strong. I didn't even bother putting it on the tender over the winter this year.

Not sure how the HD batteries stack up by I added a Anti Gravity to my Slim S which really struggled to start in the cold with a OEM battery and it worked great. When it comes time to get a new battery I will prob go with the Antigravity ATX30-HD Lithium Battery . Seemed to work very well when my bike was close to freezing. .

I use LiION (Shorai's) on several of my other motorcycles. The technology is a mixed bag. I like it, but there are a lot of caveats. It is not a simple 1 for 1 swap.
- they are lighter. For dirt bikes, this is a benefit
- you can fit more CCA and energy storage in the same size package as a "regular" battery, so they do tend to work better PROVIDED that you get a larger capacity than you have in your ACM or LA battery
- cold weather affects them. If you live in cold climates, this might not be a good option!
- if you don't have a parasitic charge, they do tend to retain charge longer than a standard battery
- you do need a different type of tender to properly charge them
- they take longer to recover from a start than a more standard battery.
- the discharge pattern is different than it is with a standard battery.
