So I came back from being out at sea yesterday for nearly a month. As soon as I got home I recieved a phone call from the Harley dealer. By 06 Fatboy is in and all I need to do is give them some money and I can take it home. So now for the problem, I re-enilsted in the Navy on 27 October. For signing up for 6years more, the Navy said they would give me a fair amount of money, which some of which is going to be the down payment on the bike. Well its now 14 days later and I sill havent recieved my money from DFAS (military payroll). Our captin gave us the day off today and since tomarrow is Veterans day, I probably wont get any money untill atleast Monday. I'm just so pissed that they Navy is screwing up my pay, and now I have to wait one more weekend and cant ride because of it. Sorry guys for making this so long, just had to vent. Thanks for listening.

Yeah...that sounds like the Navy I remember!

 

Sonar - get used to it, if you're going to make it a career!! The DoD is notorious for not paying their "bills". They couldn't get my pay right while I was active duty and now as a gov't contractor they still screw it up!

Good new is that you'll get the bike you wanted because you WILL get the money. eventually - the Navy isn't going "OUT OF BUSINESS" anytime soon.

Have two brothers retired Navy. They both said the bonus money was sometimes slow in coming but usually had it in a few days. It has to be TORTURE for you with the scooter waiting. Best of luck with the FB

One does not sign up for any branch of the military for monetary gain. One does not use the military as an easy way of getting a college degree either.
The military is for soldiers that want to be just that , and serve the country in times of need. I hope your captain will keep screwing with you for a long time to come , and that's because you deserve it. I rest my case.
