Pics from a ride
#41
Taken in mid-March when it was warmer than it is now. (Crazy weather here in eastern KS. I rode in 87 degree heat about 4 weeks ago, but 3 days later I had the snow blower out to
clear the driveway.) Anyway, buddy of mine and I went to ride the entire section of Route 66 in Kansas. All 16 miles of it! Had to ride almost 200 miles to get there, but it was worth it.
Nice little store full of memorabilia and snacks. My bike is the black one. My friend's is the other black one.
I have a friend who lives in the Netherlands. He is an expert on Route 66. He's written a book about it, and brings
folks from Europe here once or twice a year and takes them on a detailed motorcycle tour of The Mother Road.
In Galena KS there is a small museum about Route 66. My friend brought a pair of wooden shoes from Amsterdam
a few years ago, which was placed in a showcase.
Me standing in the roadway, which, as we all know, is violating Kansas State Traffic Ordinance article 11, section 68.

My son and I took about a 200 mile ride today to a truck stop (Kenly Petro 95) in Kenly NC, perfect weather for riding.
First stop (My son has a sporty with a 2 gal tank).
Went old school with the directions, as I don't have a GPS or a phone holder on the bike (None of that cushy stuff).
Had to stop and give into technology as Wilson county does a shitty job of keeping up and listing their roads, so we missed a turn.
Our destination!
some shots of the interior, place had a food court, and is a truckers paradise.
Random stop on the way homeward.
All in all we had a great time, however; that last 50 miles the old touchy was saddle sore ( the frankenbike doesn't offer much in the way of comfort).

rode today, ever had one of those rides when you can do no wrong, every shift is right on the button, bike is running good, so needless to say I was burning it down, but did stop to hydrate and smell those roses.
first stop another old abandon church.
stopped at a bridge swampy creeks fascinate me.
Right side
left side
Another one of my fascinations survey stones (I think thats what there called)
Decisions, decisions.
