Pics from a ride

My standard or should I say my favorite ride is Take 144 South out of Galeton to Hammersley Fork (I usually stop in at Ole Bull State Park and then Jeff Kinney's store in Cross Fork), stay straight on Kettle Creek Road towards Bush Dam instead of following 144 South to the left across Kettle Creek towards Renovo; stay on Kettle Creek Road until it "T"s onto 120, I may eat at the Kettle Creek Inn there then take a right on 120 to Sinnemahoning,
At Sinnemahoning I have three choices
1. The shortest, about 120 miles is take a right on 872 north to Wharton. I usually stop at the Wild Life Center in Sinnemahoning State Park and visit my bear I donated. I turn right on East Fork Road in Wharton to the top at rte 44 at Cherry Springs, take a right and then a quick left (1/4 mile or so) down West Branch Road back to Galeton.
2. Take a left across the Blue iron bridge up Wycoff Run until it "T"s on the Quehanna Highway. Option one is turn right on the Quehanna Highway to Medix Run on rte 555. This section of the Quehanna Highway is the straightest road in Pennsylvania, LOL! Turn right on 555 towards Benazette. I either go straight thru Benazette or go up Winslow Hill and down the Devil's Elbow back to 555 in Grant and either way to the end of 555 at Driftwood. Take a right on 120 and back to Sinnemahoning and up 872 as in my shortest ride. I sometimes stop at Sinnemahoning Sportsman Club or the Willows to grab a bite to eat. This about 150 miles perhaps a bit more.
3. At the top of Wycoff Run turn Left on the Quehanna Highway and then take a Left on 879 to Karthaus. I usually stop at the Riverside in Karthaus. Then back on 879 across the bridge and up the hill to Moshannon. Take a Left on rte 144 and follow it all the way back into Galeton. This is around 180 miles.
It is great to live in God's Country! 144 in places is equal to the Blue Ridge Parkway. There used to be a Chevy Beretta commercial about 144. It said most driver's wipe their brows and say whew when they reach the red light in Galeton, but a Chevy Beretta driver turns around and does it again!

Stonetrekker those are some great pics. These pics are from my description of going down 144 to Kettle Creek Road on my 1984 FXEF; I was in the valleys as the high ground at the start of my trip in Galeton on 10/25/2023, were bare, well past peak. The colors aren't brilliant this year up here.
I will again head a bit south today and get some elevation on my 1992 FXSTC. So it will be down 872 to Sinnemahoning, up Wykoff Run, left on the Quehanna Highway to Karthaus then up 879 to Moshannon and then 144 home. It is such a toss up for me as I like going up Wykoff Run and also like going south on 144 from Renovo to Moshannon. Going up that way I can see 4 sometimes 5 switchbacks ahead, but going down 144 from Moshannon to Renovo, which is actually north, you can only see the curve you are approaching. Uphill is always more fun as well!

Here are my pics from today. Something odd though, not a furry critter in sight all 3 days! I have seen snakes on the road each of the past 3 days????
18 miles south and still past peak
27 miles finally got some color
Mine and one other bike at the Riverside
I don't know where they came from?
75 miles from home
