Hello all! Looking for an economical jack to occasianly lift my Road King for maintenance and to store for the winter…

I really want to spend $250 or less… any suggestions?

I think this is a case of get what you pay for. Cheap jacks (harbor freight, sears, etc) are unstable

And thus begins another long and arduous jack thread.... 😁🙄

For precision, stability, and control, I really like using a pair of scissors jacks like these:

The downside (and it's a biggie) is you can't roll the bike around once it's off the ground.

I bought the Harbor Freight one this summer to change the front tire and do oil changes on my lowered FLHTK.

IMO as long as you'er not gonna be wrestling it or manhandling the bike while on the jack, that do for your purposes.

You can also buy a better quality used one too.

But in reality, I've never worried about "flat spots" nor have I had any in owning motorcycles since 1999.

IMO don’t go cheap if you’re going to wrench on the bike. As far as getting tires off the ground I don’t think flat spots are a real issue unless the bikes going to be stored for a long time, not a few months.

In today’s crazy economy and supply issues you’re likely not going to get any good setup for under $250.
If you only want to buy a jack; then IMO JS Jack is the only way to go but that’s going to run you $700+.

IMO- add $50 to your budget and go with the below setup:

Here’s my review of the above setup.

Harbor Freight has worked perfectly for me for 12 years. Oil changes, cleaning, wheel removal, no issues.

To me that's just overkill. I've parked my bike on an old carpet every winter. For the last 50 years. Never had a problem and after a few miles of the first ride in the spring the flat spots are gone.

I've been on two wheels for well over 50 years ... During that time many different scooters and dozens of different tire brands ... I can't recall ever having an issue caused by a scooter sitting on it's tires in the garage
