The Ford Econoline vans kinda sorta reflect where you're going. They were an economy van based on the Ford Falcon platform. Been in production since the 60's.

How can you not love that?

Have owned 10 of these over the years. Love these bikes!

I have owned 4 Electra Glides over the years, they are great bikes.
I had a 1972, 1976, 2005 and a 2014, now on my second softail. I miss the FLH platform, just needed a lighter bike.

First big twin Harley was a brand new 1999 Electra Glide Standard. I was in my early thirties and a bit of a rebel for buying an "Old Man's Bike" at the time but I loved the all day touring comfort and the bonus of having saddle bags to carry my groceries. Traded that motorcycle in for a Fatboy a few years later. That was a mistake.

Bought another Electra Glide in 2008. Loved that bike. After putting a lot of miles on that motorcycle, traded it in on a nearly new 2013 Road King. Liked the Road King but it just couldn't match the Electra Glide for long distance comfort and protection from the elements.

In 2018, the Road King got traded in on a brand new Ultra Limited (Electra Glide with a few more bells and whistles). I will be keeping my present ride for a few more years but when it comes time for replacement, I will stick with the Electra Glide platform. Love the comfort, love the batwing fairing, love the ride and handling. The Electra Glide is truly the Peterbilt 359 of motorcycles.

Imagine if Dodge had named a car the "Roll up Window Special" in 1917, and still kept the name decades after every other manufacturer adopted the feature.

That's what I mean.

The Corvette and Mustang Are not novel ideas. They took out the name Electra-Glide for a few years. I have an Ultra-limited which can be called an Electra-Glide even though the Moco dropped it but now its name is back. Love my ride!
Few even know why the Hydra-Glide was called the Hydra-Glide or why the Duo-Glide was called the Duo-Glide.

Hydraulic suspension aside - be it front, rear or both, with or without an electric starter motor - we have lost out way. Knowing Old School **** is not a prerequisite to owning a Harley but it does enrichen the experience.

I think I would like that in a couple of years, if I can find a garage queen. Nice Retro look, modern drivetrain.

Haha, I just got corrected by a guy at work last week. I told him the Electra Glide he rides looked nice and asked him if he could use a couple of the spare parts I have left from mine. He corrected me and let me know it is not an Electra Glide, it is an Ultra.
