I have a few HD jackets, some t-shirts, and a couple of pairs of HD shoes/boots whatever you want to call them. Most of the jackets were bought off of ebay at greatly reduced prices. I won't pay the asking price in the dealerships.

I wear whatever shirt I grab.... I've worn an "Indian" t-shirt my daughter bought me (I have no idea why).
I DO know several people who are walking HD billboards.... some of whom actually own Harleys.

Wear what you want.... when your, wherever you want,
No one cares

My riding gear includes a Harley branded helmet, mesh jacket, a vented textile jacket, and a couple pair of HD gloves. While my goal wasn't to look like a Harley billboard, the local dealer was the best place to buy gear near me. We just had a Cycle Gear open up about an hour away, so that will probably be my first stop when I need a new helmet or jacket. I've had zero luck buying riding gear online, so I try to find everything locally.

Have to be careful with some Cycle Gear stuff. They sell a bunch of gear from third rate companies that don't test their stuff. I actually bought both boots(zipper tore out) and a jacket (Sleeve came apart) from one that completely fell apart in a year. Just make sure you're buying reputable brands from them.

Jeans, steel toed boots, t-shirt..... if cool, I do have a mesh HD jacket. If colder, I have some Korean made gore-tex jacket....colder add black hooded sweatshirt. Really cold leather chaps and leather jackets.
I don't much care what I have on..... but jeans, boots, a shirt and helmet are minimum. Harley stuff?? Yeah got some....family always get me a tee shirt when they go on trips. I typically just grab a shirt and go... MSU/HD/Legion/Veterans....don't matter.
I do not care to be walking billboard...they can pay for their own advertising. I wear what is comfortable for me.

When it is hot out, I wear an Indian mesh jacket. Otherwise I wear nothing with a Motorcycle brand name on it when on the bike. Come to think of it, I don't wear anything Motorcycle branded off the bike either.

This time of year it’s either Carhartt tees simply because they have pockets for spectacles, or one of a couple free dealer shirts. Carhartt mechanics gloves that breath and the wind blows though the heavy textile back. Wolverine steel toes and wrangler jeans because they fit.

If the humidity doesn’t abate soon it’s going to be plaid boxers and flip-flops.
