I was reading the thread about seat hight, and started to think about a fellow riding friend that is on the shorter side. She has had a coupla changes made to lower her seat, but still feels that she should get her boots modified (adding more heal) so she can touch flat footed.
It seems to me that this would create oppereation issues, as the boot would fit oddly with the controls.... causing potential problems.
Your thoughts please, have any of you ladies tried riding with heals yet?? I did ONCE, and quit before I dumped my scoot over them. [:'(] but then I have tennis-shoe feet [8D]

Icon make some boots with high heels. Looks like they're pretty tall:

I do kinda like the look of those, then I would deffinatly be 6' +. I suppose if my friend couldn't "flat foot" with those, she better start growing!! LOL
I bet her honey would like 'em tooo!!
as long as they didn't make her taller than him [8D]

I've been tempted to ride in high heels but I can't get the traction I need to back up the bike. Plus I'm scared as heck that I'm going to dump the bike in the garage because the concretes so smooth.

I have a pair of boots that I ride in regularly that have a 2-3 inch heel. It's a "chunky" heel, though, so I don't lose any stability. As far as causing problems with operation, I haven't had any problems so far, and I've been wearing them since I started riding almost a year ago. I actually prefer them to my "flat" boots. When I need to shift or apply the brake, I just put my heel up on the peg to put my foot into position to use the controls. When I'm cruising, they help keep my feet in perfect position (for me anyway) on the pegs...no sliding around or anything of that nature.
I'm not vertically challenged by any means (I'm 5'8"), but have a hubby that is nearly a foot taller than I am. So I almost always wear heels of some sort.
