My new2007 FDX Dyna Super Glide runs and sounds great.
The build date was May 2007.
Granted, I've only had it for a week and 437 miles; but, based on numerous posts, on HDF, I feared for the worst.
I regularly use 6th gear, over 55 mph, per the owner'smanual, and 5th gear sounds fine to me.
I really like the EFI and not having to use a choke and waiting 5 minutes, for warmup,to ride.
Temps have been 90+F and I don't think the bike runs excessively hot.
Fit and finish are excellent, imo.
I'm not that easy to please, when it comes to vehicles. They are an expensive hobby, for me and I expect high quality.

As with cars, there are lemons in every batch, but they are the minority. Even the much-vaunted Toyota has quality issues on their offerings.

You've got one of the best bikes in the Harley line to tailor to your likes.
You seem to enjoy Triumph's, won't take much to make that Dyna fit right in with your likes.

 

I dig my FDX! I've been using 5th gear for speeds up to 65 mph. It feels like it's lugging in 6th at this speed.

 

This is a refreshing post. To hear some folks talk, the stock bikes run like garbage and sound like scooters. I always thought I must have been lucky with the HD's I've owned, since they have run pretty much perfectly out of the crate. Enjoy that new bike!
