I was stationed with Alex at 8th & I in DC. In fact I gave him his keys to his bike the night before the wreck. He had left them in his bike down in the parking garage and when he came to the guard shack toget his keys back we talked for about 10 minutes. Alex was a good guy he was one of those guys always in a good mood andwho would ask you how you were doing and what was going on. When I first got to the city he offered to drive me all the way to SC, just to get my truck. He wasn't in the same platoon as me but during the holidays we got to work together and know each other better. There has been a Marine with his body ever since the wreck and they will be there till he goes home. There is going to be a memorial sevice for him at the barracks. Very sad situation. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Semper Fi.

Fatal Crash near Pohick Bay Regional Park
A Marine was killed in a high speed motorcycle crash that occurred at the intersection of Gunston Road and Pohick Bay Drive on Saturday, August 4 around 12:23 p.m. The 2001 Honda motorcycle operated by 20-year-old Lance Corporal Alex Clay Morales, was traveling northbound on Gunston Road, approaching the intersection of Pohick Bay Drive. A 1997 Honda Accord driven by a 54-year-old Lorton-area woman was attempting to make a left turn onto Pohick Bay Drive from southbound Gunston Road. As the car made the left turn, the motorcycle struck the car with so much force it flipped the Honda Accord sedan. Morales was killed in the crash and the occupant of the car sustained minor injuries. Investigation revealed excessive speed was a factor on the part of the motorcyclist and no charges have been placed. Morales was a United States Marine assigned to the Marine Barracks at 8th and I Streets in Washington D.C.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS8477 or Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.

I'm checking the PGR website every couple hours for post for his service. I will do what it takes to be there:
My dad: 2yrs combat in Korea, USMC
Older brother, retired USMC Gunny
Oldest son, going to college on USMC scholarship, just missed Anapolis.
Myself: Proffessional FireFighter 28yrs. My brother talked me out of enlisting, I still kinda hold it against him.
