Bronx looked like Buell modernized by hands of Yamaha and looked quite appealing as a modern street bike.
This one, what's on preview... looks like abomination assembled of leftover parts from 48, FatBob and Street all together.

I don't think they say "Sportster" on the website and the new bikes I've seen don't say Sportster on the tank decal anymore, just says Harley Davidson. They are just slowly switching them out. jmo
They killed the dyna line to force buyers into the more expensive entry level touring bikes which was the main target market at the time. HD will be all liquid cooled at some point not long from now. This new series motor and the machines they are building around it are the teething platforms to get the buyer base ready for what's coming.

Harleys 20 years from now will have little resemblance to the machines we grew up loving & riding.

I don't know why they can't have both the core bikes and new ones.

I always thought a "heritage" line and "future" line could coexist. Keep building the best air cooled cruisers and tourers in the heritage line whle going into new markets with electric, watercooled performance & off roading in the future line. If both the Revival and Pan America sell well, why not?

I thought what GM did with the Blazer name was bad.

I do love the Pan America and seriously giving it a few looks here and there. Overall, I do not think I would ever want this bike, but PA and Bronx, yeh they could come home with me.

I'm not a fan of the high exhaust either, but compared to the abomination of an exhaust they put on the street this thing is beautiful.

Lol, did they do anything right on the Street? Don't get me wrong this bike isn't junk and has potential especially to those who like it, but the exhaust is just stupid and/or lazy engineering. Looking for an example of a decent exhaust setup led me to this monstrosity. So I guess the Custom ain't all bad..

^ That thing looks like the inspiration for the Road Glide and Pan America.

I rode a street 500 in my Harley Riders Academy class about 6 years ago.

It wasn't that bad of a bike. But it just looked like they started designing a good bike, then ran out of budget and said 'Oh crap we still have to put an exhaust on it, quick somebody weld something up by Friday." Then it was "Ok now we have the exhaust on, where are we gonna put the foot peg on the right side."
