the whine of a supercharger on top of a stroker

 

When I was a kid; in the summertime I always slept with the windows open. We lived sort of close to a hwy and in those days (70s) after dark they might as well have rolled it up since there wasn't any traffic on it. Every once in a while I would hear a lone Harley going down the road. It could have been a shovel, pan, or maybe even an ironhead. There was a traffic light close by with a long steep hill after it. I would listen to that bike go through the gears as he rumbled up the hill, always pulling longest in third gear then a long pause, followed by a deeper exhaust note in high gear. Once he made the top of the hill it would slowly fade back into silence.

My 1969 MG midget had a great sound.

 

My least favorite sound is "CLICK". I freeze and get instant sweets.

 

The sounds of birds chirping in the morning before sunrise, or a Harley.

 

"By honey, I'll see you next week"
