They’re basically doing what Billy Joel has been doing for years now.

I would like a retromod version of a Softail that looks like my Dad's 1932. Too bad we can't get hand shifters and foot clutches anymore. I would buy one of these!

I must live under a rock, 'cause I only just heard about this new Electra Glide Revival today. I totally love it... what a cool bike! It's a bit expensive, but the price isn't completely insane considering how exclusive it's going to be. I think they'll easily sell out. But what I really like is this whole idea that is the first of a series, where they'll release a bike or two each year where they give it the retro treatment. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they come out with over the next few years. Having said all that, I won't be trying to buy one. But I still think it's a cool idea and am glad they did this.

The "Revival" parts won't be found on any other Harley model that's currently produced, so it's not really a parts bin bike.

I love the bike. I won’t pay the $30K for one but I can see adding a used one to the stable in a few years. I have always loved those Electraglides from that era but don’t want the headaches or concerns of an old bike. This fills a niche for guys like me who want modern reliability with vintage style. I already have my CVO so I have a modern looking Harley and the wife and I take trips on it. I don’t need another 2-up touring bike. Just wondering though if that seat setup can be swapped out quickly for a 2-up touring seat and a detachable tourpak. If so, that makes it even more desirable.
